What we help with

You do not need a diagnosis to start.

Stress and anxiety

Tools to calm a busy mind and feel steadier day to day.

Low mood

Space to talk things through and rebuild momentum.

Burnout and overwhelm

Make sense of what is draining you and find a sustainable way forward.

Life transitions

Support through change in career, relationships, parenthood, or loss.

Self-esteem and confidence

Self-talk, boundaries, and a kinder relationship with yourself.

Relationship challenges

Understand patterns and communicate more clearly.

Sleep and worry

Strategies to quiet racing thoughts and rest better.

Healthy routines

Habits around movement, recovery, and rest that last.

Counselling offers support and skills, not a medical diagnosis or cure. If you are in crisis or need urgent help, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line.

Counselling coordinated with the rest of your care, not separate from it.

Our approach

How we work with you.

These methods are blended to fit your goals and your pace.

Person-centred

You set the direction; sessions follow what matters most to you.

CBT-informed

Practical ways to notice unhelpful thought patterns and respond differently.

Solution-focused

Build on what is already working, in small, doable steps.

Strengths-based

Start from your strengths and resilience rather than only what feels hard.

Collaborative goal-setting

Goals agreed together and revisited as your needs change.

Care coordinated with the clinic

Coordinated with the clinic's other services, including Clinical Pilates and recovery.

What to expect

You do not need it all figured out before you book.

Getting to know you

Your first session covers what brings you in and what you are hoping for, and together we shape a few clear goals. Nothing has to be disclosed before you are ready.

The work in session

A confidential, one-on-one space to talk things through and build practical skills, drawing on CBT-informed and solution-focused work at a pace set with you.

Ongoing support

We revisit your goals and adjust as you progress. Some people come for a short stretch; others stay longer. You control how often you come.

Good to know

Counselling FAQs.

What happens in a first session?

We talk about what brings you in and what you are hoping for, then shape a few goals together. There is nothing to prepare and nothing you have to share before you feel ready.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes. What you share stays between you and your counsellor, within the standard professional and legal limits that protect safety.

How long are sessions and how often should I come?

Individual sessions usually run about 50 minutes. Many people start weekly or every other week, then space sessions out; the pace is always yours to adjust.

Do you provide receipts or direct billing?

Yes. Counselling is delivered by a Registered Social Worker (RSW), and receipts are provided for your extended health plan. Direct billing is rolling out now: Sun Life is live today, with more insurers coming (see our Insurance page for the current list). Coverage varies by plan, so check your benefits for registered social work or counselling.

Is counselling right for me?

Counselling can help if you feel stuck, stressed, low, or simply want space to think things through. It is support, not a medical cure, and you do not need to be in crisis to benefit.

What approaches do you use?

Sessions are person-centred and evidence-informed, drawing on CBT-informed, solution-focused, and strengths-based approaches, shaped around your goals and pace.
