About Counselling & Social Work
Counselling at Fittopia Health Care is a confidential, one-on-one conversation delivered by a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the British Columbia College of Social Workers. Sessions are person-centred and evidence-informed, drawing on practical approaches shaped around your goals and pace.
The work is collaborative: goals are set together at the start and revisited as things change, and support can be coordinated with the clinic's other services. Counselling offers support and skills, not a medical diagnosis or cure, and you do not need to be in crisis to benefit.
New patients
Your first visit with Bopo
Your first session with Bopo covers what brings you in and what you are hoping for, and together you shape a few clear goals. Nothing has to be disclosed before you are ready, and sessions are available in person or virtually.
From there, Bopo works at a pace set with you, drawing on person-centred, CBT-informed, solution-focused, and strengths-based approaches as they fit. Some people come for a short stretch, others stay longer; you decide how often you come.

Is counselling confidential?
Yes. What you share stays between you and your counsellor, within the standard professional and legal limits that protect safety.
Do you provide receipts or direct billing?
Yes. Every visit comes with an official receipt for your extended health plan, including your practitioner's registration number. Direct billing is rolling out now, with Sun Life live today and more insurers being onboarded; see the Insurance page for the current list.
