Insurance & Billing
Insurance and direct billing
Every practitioner at Fittopia Health Care is registered in their field, so every paid visit comes with an official receipt you can submit to your extended health plan. Direct billing is rolling out right now: Sun Life is live today, and we are actively onboarding more than 25 additional insurers.
How It Works
Three simple steps
Using your extended health benefits at the clinic is straightforward.
Book your appointment
Book online any time to see live availability, or call the clinic and we will help you choose the right service and practitioner.
We treat you and issue your receipt
After your visit you receive an official receipt that includes your practitioner's registration number, the detail extended health plans look for.
Submit to your extended health plan
Send the receipt to your plan for reimbursement. If your insurer is live for direct billing (see the status below), we bill the covered portion straight to your plan instead.
Direct Billing Status
Where direct billing stands
We are a new clinic and are onboarding direct billing insurer by insurer. This page is the live status: we will move each insurer into the "live now" column as its approval lands.

In progress
We are actively working to get the insurers below approved. Expected timeline: 1 to 3 weeks.
Not on the live list yet? You are still covered: pay for your visit, take your official receipt, and submit it to your plan for reimbursement as usual. Nothing about your coverage changes, only who sends the paperwork.
Also in progress: ICBC provider registration for motor vehicle accident claims. This is separate from extended health benefits and is not available yet; this page will be updated when it is.
In-gym physiotherapy at Fittopia Fitness Center
In-gym physiotherapy with Winston Yeung at Fittopia Fitness Center, 7951 Alderbridge Way Unit 155, Richmond, BC V6X 2A4, is an established practice that direct-bills the following insurers today. This list applies to in-gym physiotherapy only; for clinic services at the Wellness Studio, see the direct billing status above.
Bring your benefits card to your first appointment. Coverage varies by plan, so confirm your physiotherapy benefits with your insurer before your first visit.

What your plan may cover
Most extended health plans include categories for all four of the registered disciplines at the clinic.
Acupuncture
Treatment by a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac), including Traditional Chinese Medicine sessions.
Registered massage therapy
Treatment by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT).
Physiotherapy
Assessment and treatment by a Registered Physiotherapist.
Counselling and social work services
Sessions with a Registered Social Worker (RSW); many plans cover counselling under this category.
Every plan is different: check your individual plan for coverage limits and per-visit maximums before your appointment.
Official receipts, every visit
We issue an official receipt for every paid visit. Receipts include your practitioner's registration number (R.Ac, RMT, Registered Physiotherapist, or RSW), so your extended health plan has everything it needs to process your claim.
A note on cosmetic acupuncture
Cosmetic acupuncture is typically not covered by extended health plans and is subject to GST, so plan for it as a self-paid service. All other acupuncture sessions fall under the standard acupuncture category on most plans.
