About this care

About Acupuncture & TCM

Acupuncture at Fittopia Health Care is delivered by Registered Acupuncturists (R.Ac) registered with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC), combining a modern health intake with Traditional Chinese Medicine assessment, including pulse and tongue diagnosis. Very fine, single-use sterile needles are placed at precise points to ease tension, support circulation, and help restore balance.

Every plan of care is built individually rather than run through a fixed protocol, and can be coordinated with the clinic's other movement and rehabilitation services when that fits your goals. Acupuncture is a complement to, not a replacement for, medical diagnosis and care.

Your first visit with Albert

Your first visit with Albert starts with a conversation about your health history and goals, blended with a TCM assessment, before any needles are placed. The initial session runs 60 minutes, giving time for a full intake alongside treatment.

During treatment you rest while very fine, single-use sterile needles are placed; the sensation is mild, usually just a light tap. Depending on what suits you, Albert may add electroacupuncture, cupping, or scalp acupuncture, and will explain anything before it is used.
